Things are constantly happening. Good things. Bad things. At least, we perceive them as such. At what point will it sink in that life is not only full of such moments, but rather, life is these moments.
Is life not just a ceaseless stream of moments strung together, one after the next? If so, then why do we discriminate against some moments and not others. Are all moments not gifts for us to experience?
A wise person once said that experiences are food for the soul. If that’s true, then why not eat up each experience, and before even labeling it as good or bad, just take it as it comes?
We get so worked up over the littlest things that do not matter. I only know this because I’m guilty of it time and time again.
At some point it’s got to set in that moments are all we have, so we better not discriminate. We better not put up a fuss because we like certain moments and not others.
To win at life means to not only handle, but embrace and come out stronger from any and all moments we experience. That‘s a heck of a lot more meaningful than only being able to enjoy the “fun” moments.
The next time you’re faced with a not-so-pleasant moment, maybe check in with yourself and see if you’re really there, present to the unfolding of life, or if you’re in fact somewhere else in your head.
Live with substance!
