Amidst the Storm

What to do, when there’s nothing to do? Where to look, when there’s nothing to see? What to listen to, when all you hear is silence?

The answer, my friend, is to go within.

Now is an opportunity to practice being with yourself. This doesn’t come around too often, you know, when you’re alone with your body, mind, and heart.

Why not get to know them? Why not turn inward and listen to what they have to say? Surely they’ve been trying to speak with you, but you’ve been too busy to listen.

Maybe you can befriend an old foe, shake hands with your devils, as they say. There’s nothing wrong with this.

In fact, it’s probably the right thing to do. Especially while there’s nothing else to do, so you say.

So why not give it a try? Turn inward and listen. See whatever you see. Hear whatever you hear. Watch, listen, and simply be. Be the witness to whatever arises, without clinging to it or resisting it.

Who knows, maybe it’ll be no different than watching TV, or listening to a great song. What if it’s better than that? What if instead of entertainment, you feel peace?

Wouldn’t that be special?

Live with substance!
