We all have goals, ambitions, desires, and motivations in life.
I want to be rich.
My dream is to be famous. My goal is to travel the world.
My mission is to build an empire.
All of these are valid things to work for, but they're not the answer to what you're ultimately looking for. Not even close.
The only real goal you should be chasing is unconditional bliss. I say bliss because the word happy is over-used in today's vernacular.
Theres a Jim Carrey quote floating around that rings so true to my being. He said:
"I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer."
Most people probably scoff at this. Most people can't fathom how that's not the answer.
But that's because most people don't understand the truth, and instead are caught in the incessant loop of chasing their tails, getting frustrated because they think that's where happiness is found. What they don't realize is, if they just stopped chasing and learned to focus on the right things, happiness would naturally ensue.
We're searching for external circumstances to give us an internal feeling. We need to wake up. That feeling is already within us.
Live with substance!
