Stop Complicating Your Life

I find myself in too many discussions where people aren't sure what to do because they're weighing five different complex options, all with superficial differences but the same underlying purpose.

Instead of picking one and trying it out, they continue to evaluate until they're tired of evaluating, and then make the worst decision of all - that they'll come back to it later (oftentimes to never come back at all).

But here's the thing...

Life doesn't have to be so complex.

With the myriad of companies out there fighting for our business, it seems like we have to constantly make choices. But they're all just trying to win us over by one-upping their competition in a never-ending game of customer acquisition and retention.

But you and I don't have to give into this game. We can play our own game. A much simpler game, where we come out on top. Because we're in control, not them.

I'm talking about every area of your life. Diet, exercise, entertainment, finances, work. We get pulled in so many directions every single day, that it becomes hard to stick to the foundational things. Do this for a long time and we completely forget the reason why we started. But the magic lies in the simple matters.

If things get overwhelming for you, simplify your focus right down to the present moment.

Ask yourself:

What can I do now? Who can I help now?

What's good about right now?

Not tomorrow, not next week, but right now.

If you're overwhelmed by complexity, ask yourself how can you serve the present moment instead of worrying about the future. How can you lift it up so it's better off than it was before it crossed your path?

When I'm overwhelmed, I ask myself these questions, and find a glimpse of inner peace. I trust you can do the same.

Live with substance!
